God's Glory in the Blizzard

Are we looking for God's glory in our everyday lives?

LIVING A FAITH-FILLED AND HONEST LIFE

I took my dog outside for a walk or should I say a trudge? (Can you say "a trudge"? Maybe. )

Because here in the Northeast, we are in the middle of a blizzard. The snow is deep, and the wind is fierce.

Being outside and hearing the wind and seeing the fierceness of the storm, I couldn't help but think about God.

He is so powerful.

The beauty in the storm reminded me of God's beauty--of His glory.

Have you ever wondered what the glory of the LORD is?

In Leviticus 9:23 and 24, the glory of the LORD appeared to the people. "Then fire came out from before the LORD and consumed the burnt offering...and when the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces."

Wow! That must have been something.

2 Corinthians 3 talks about when Moses came down from the mountain after being with the LORD. His face shone, and the people couldn't look "intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face" (verse 7), so he had to wear a veil over his face (verse 13).

But what's even more amazing is that Jesus, the Word, "became flesh, and dwelt among us and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." John 1:14

And to take amazement to the next level:

"...whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away" (1 Corinthians 3:16) and

"we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit." (verse 18)

God is transforming us from glory to glory!

Just that thought humbles me.

Our glorious God values you and me so much that He doesn't want us to stay the way we are. He has provided a way, through Jesus, to be changed--to become holy like Him.

All these thoughts came from being outside in the awesome, powerful blizzard that God brought to the Northeast.

And even though it can be scary, and we might lose power, I know that God is using all this for His glory and my good.

And even if you are not experiencing a blizzard, I pray that you will look at your life around you and see where you can find a glimpse of God's glory.
